What are Convict Bricks?

Made from clay in the traditional sandstock manner, convict bricks are renowned for their unique indentations, known as frogs. These frogs served a practical purpose, aiding in the bonding of bricks, but they also held a hidden significance. Each convict had a daily brick quota, and the distinctive frog design became a subtle identifier, a mark of their labour.
