Kitchen Latches
Restoring an iconic piece of furniture such as a wooden ice chest or jelly cabinet, or refurbishing your kitchen cabinetry, can be a very exciting and rewarding experience, and breathe new life and energy into your home. With improvements in the ways that people can communicate, including video technology, streaming services, mobile devices, and more, it is now easier than ever for the hobby carpenter or enthusiastic DIY-er to undertake a restoration project. Helpful website blogs, step by step guides, and free to watch instructional videos from experts and others with experience have made at-home furniture and cabinetry restoration more accessible than ever before. Websites where people can show off their process and end result, or create and display mood boards, offer a wealth of inspiration, motivation, and make-over ideas. Better yet is the super convenience of being able to research techniques and products, and place orders for materials and parts online, at any hour of the day, meaning that you can go at your own pace. No longer is the realm of kitchen face lifts or restored kitchen dressers and china hutches limited to just qualified joiners and carpenters, or those with decades of hands-on experience. With a wealth of knowledge and resources at your fingertips there has never been a better time to jump headfirst into that furniture restoration project!
As restoration and building specialists with over 40 years of experience, we have collected the best selection of reproduction designs of handles and drawer pulls that will add the perfect finishing touch to your refurbished welsh dresser or art deco bureau. Evoking many popular period and architectural styles, installing kitchen knobs and kitchen pull handles from Restoration Online is the quickest and easiest way to give new life to vintage pieces, or crown a hand-made labour of love. Whether you’re looking for kitchen latches for your art deco kitchen dresser, subtle cabinet flush pulls for your modern vintage kitchen cabinetry, or the perfect half moon handles for your shaker style kitchen drawers, we have combed the earth to bring you an extensive range of unique and authentic fittings that combine modern convenience with old fashioned charm and authenticity.
Finishing touches are important, especially when you’ve spent hours of time, not to mention blood, sweat, and tears, lovingly and carefully restoring a piece of furniture. Hardware should add to the piece, not take away from it. There is no point in having stunning Georgian style rope knobs on your bathroom vanity if they fall off every time someone uses them, or installing cheap nasty plastic imitation fittings from your local hardware store onto the rich, deep mahogany of a restored beloved heirloom. At Restoration Online, we believe that reproduction hardware needs to be both beautiful and functional. We understand the importance of these products being both fashioned in the original style for authenticity, while also being able to withstand the rigours of everyday use, especially in high traffic rooms such as the kitchen and bathroom. This is why you will find only the best kitchen handles, offset furniture hinges, T bar knobs, kitchen drop handles, furniture cabinet locks, kitchen dresser latches, and other furniture accessories on our website.
Our furniture hardware is made from high quality materials including brass, steel, and iron, and is available to purchase in classic metal finishes including polished brass, antique copper, polished bronze, black, polished nickel and more. Brands we offer include, but are not limited to, trusted Australian companies, Tradco Hardware and Castella, as well as long established and high-end brands, From The Anvil and Nostalgic Warehouse.
Not just for the casual crafter or furniture flipper, but also joiners, cabinet makers, and qualified carpenters, we offer competitive prices as well as trade discounts. If you would like to know more about trade pricing, be sure to check out our Trade Pricing information page.

What is furniture restoration?
Furniture restoration usually refers to the process of cleaning a piece of furniture and making cosmetic repairs and/or changes. It does not normally involve making any significant changes or repairs to the structural integrity of the piece, but rather only involves cosmetic changes. This could be something as simple as replacing old, tarnished brass knobs on a chest of drawers with new shiny nickel knobs. If the old knobs have left noticeable marks in the wood, these may be able to be covered with kitchen knob backplates. Alternatively, the wood may require a light sanding followed by staining and varnishing. A more involved project might involve removing the doors of cabinetry, sanding back the wood, then priming and painting with a new colour. Once the paint has dried, the doors can be re-attached to the unit using new cabinet hinges, and finished off with kitchen cabinet handles in a matching finish. Playing with new colours on old pieces is a fun way to easily breath new life into your furniture and update your décor. It can also be much cheaper and easier than purchasing completely new furniture and helps to reduce waste in the process as your old piece doesn’t end up in landfill but instead can continue to be enjoyed and utilised for more years.
